Present moment, Wonderful Moment.

What is mindfulness?

Mindfulness means to remember. We practice to build that muscle to remember what is real and what is true. Meet life here and now as it really is, and not as it appears to be. It’s possible to find relief from the conditioned mind that is caught in the past or carried away by the future. The practice of meditation creates a pathway for the mind to connect to the heart and the body and breath. In this balance state, we learn how to live from our deepest intention by tapping into the higher levels of awareness.

Practicing in a group setting is a key component to building that habit of awareness. Good friends keep us on track. A skilled teacher steers us in the right direction. The techniques learned can help refine our energy of mindfulness. Teachings give us a framework and context for the experiences we are having. You don’t have to do it alone. It’s easier with others.

Join our meditation community and be fully supported as you explore the inner landscape of your mind and body.

Mindfulness-based stress Reduction

What is MBSR?

Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) is an effective, scientifically researched methodology for building resilience, balance and peace of mind. MBSR was created by Jon Kabat-Zinn, Ph.D. 40 yrs ago at the Center of Mindfulness of UMass.

This course integrates neuroscience with clinical studies to reveal the effectiveness of mindfulness for alleviating chronic pain, improving medical symptoms, and managing anxiety and depression.

It is the most researched program available, backed by hundreds of published research. Participants who have completed the course report an increase in their quality of life, including pain and anxiety reduction. Learn effective techniques to regulate emotions and problem solve through experiential learning and the direct application of mindfulness under the guidance of an experienced instructor.

How it works

This is an interactive 8-week course offered online or in-person. Each class is 2.5 hours. This course includes one daylong session for integration and deepening of practices. Classes consist of mindfulness meditation, movement practices, group discussions, and materials to support participants’ learning of the relationship between mindfulness, stress and well-being. Learn about stress and how to develop a new relationship with challenging situations. The course begins with an orientation where you get to sample the practices and the format to see if it’s for you.
